Three jobs that often get mixed together
Getting into a locked car, adding a spare and replacing all the keys you've lost are different jobs. A quote for one may not cover the others.
Our automotive locksmith service in Inglewood includes car lockout help and supported key cutting, replacement and programming. The exact vehicle determines which options are available. We check the year, make and model, together with whether a working key remains.
If the key is inside, say where. A key in the trunk is worth mentioning because some cars keep that compartment separate from the cabin. If the key is gone, opening the door may only be the first part of the work.
A key can have more than one function
A metal blade works with a mechanical lock. In many cars, a chip or fob also needs to be accepted by the vehicle before it will start. Remote buttons may operate the doors or trunk.
That is why copying the visible shape isn't always enough. Be clear about what you want the finished key to do. A spare car key might need the full set of functions, or a simpler backup may be supported by that vehicle.
A worn case, damaged button and programming fault are not interchangeable. Explain whether the car starts, whether a spare behaves differently and when the trouble began. You can describe the symptoms without naming the cause.
Before ordering an online fob
Matching the picture isn't a reliable compatibility check. A fob can have the same outline and buttons while its internal parts belong to a different vehicle version.
Check the part details before buying. If a replacement is already on its way, keep the listing and packaging. Customer-supplied or used electronics may not be suitable, and accepting them should be discussed before arranging any work.
For car key replacement when every key is lost, some vehicles need parts or service that cannot be provided at the parking location. Check that before deciding that a tow or dealer visit is unavoidable.
Use the location of the car
An Inglewood street address may lead to the front of a building while the car sits in a garage behind it. Add the entrance, level or nearby cross street that actually helps someone find the vehicle.
Around Century Boulevard, SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome, a venue address is not a parking-space address. A lot sign or parking pass can help identify the right place. Property entry requirements still need to be settled.
Key work also requires permission to access the vehicle. Mention a rental, company car or documents locked inside early. Once work is done, test the agreed functions while the car and key are together: opening, starting and the remote buttons included in the job.
